LO1: Location Reece (P1)

 My house:

My short film is based on women and how even justice cant feel the void about being sexually assaulted or harassed in all the categories possible about being vulnerable and being taken advantage off. This young girl needed a bedroom and the best location for her would be my bedroom. This is because my bedroom has pink walls and girlie necessities such as hair products, perfumes, make up and decorations on the walls such as butterflies and drawings. What better place could I have filmed that represents a females room other then my home and room. I can also use good lighting as I will be filming these scenes during the day with sunlight coming through my wide windows and my wide window in the bathroom. Cinematography element will be easier to focus and blur from Rebecca (the young female ) and the alcohol bottle that was left in the bathroom from the night before.

Outside of my house:

I have to film Rebeca leaving the house after pulling herself together and changing. she will be going for a walk so I will film her leaving the house and considering I will be filming her in my bedroom (zara), it will be more convenient to film outside my house as we will be anyways to film a the docklands for the further shooting of my short film. The lighting will be good as we will be outside with natural and bright light. However, I may have to change the aperture settings as the light may be too bright on the camera. However, the cinematography elements will still be put in place whether that is changing focus of when she stops to shut the door and blurs her out and focus on the house or her walking away with a different technique of cinematography.

The docklands:

The docklands is a peaceful, therapeutic and has an amazing view. As I have been there before, I would love to be unique and have this area to film rather then average places as it'll be a change of scenery for both myself and my actors to see and visit as well as film. The docklands will be the best place to film with the cinematography elements as one character will be on the pier and will be able to film and focus one either character or both. On the other hand, the lighting will be a little difficult so I will be using equipment from school such as studio lights and the camera lights. Therefore, the view will be worth it and the light requirements will be met to ensure my short film is beyond standard.

Location: My house

Shooting Script Shot No.s: 1- 5

Cast: Zara khan

Props: Blood, empty alcohol bottle

Reminders: Ensuring no one is in my house so that the filming shots will be silent and we will be able to film and concentrate. I must find the most suitable place to place the camera and tripod so we do not fall over and cause harm. I must also be careful with the taps when opened so it does splash or damage the equipment by water.

Contingency Plan (if filming cannot be completed as planned):

If I Am not able to film in my house I have my grandma's house or even some of my friends' houses are available.

DAILY FILMING SHEET

Location:  outside my house

Shooting Script Shot No.s:6-8

Cast: Zara khan

Props: Phone and hair clip

Reminders: dress her up as casual as she will be in the same clothes throughout the rest of the short film. Consider how long the shots are as it will all need to fit up within 5 mins.

Contingency Plan (if filming cannot be completed as planned):

Organise another day with more organisation or even film outside a different house of a friend of zara walking out as these shots shouldn't take long.

DAILY FILMING SHEET

(CALL SHEET)

Date and time:  Friday 10th may 2024 - 8:00 pm

Location: at the docklands

Shooting Script Shot No.s: 9+

Cast: Zara khan on the phone to Sadbhi kumar and Ferhat as the guilty prey

Props: fangs, fake blood, make up, cape and a phone

Reminders: This scene needs to go from anger to deep emotion very quickly so make zara aware of how she needs to have the change and when filming as this is the main part where zara has to really show the plot of the story.

Contingency Plan (if filming cannot be completed as planned):

Organise another day with more organisation, prep zara from beforehand on how the scene will go as well as ferhat as he needs to buckle down as he needs to take filming seriously as he does not do media and doesn't know the experience of the filming life.

Wednesday 27th March 2024-I will complete my set design

Thursday 28th March 2024- I will now start my camera justifications

LO1: Lighting justifications (P1)

Justification

Not sure - the docklands: night time

Reflectors

Use of highlights

There is light reflecting from the moon onto the river. Therefore, reflectors will be useful when needing light for the scenes near the water.

Not sure - the docklands: night time

Softbox

Directing the viewer's eye to detail

The soft box will help when needing to analyse and see what is exactly happening. This mainly will be when there are biting scenes as we will be able to see the neck getting bitten into.

Not sure - the docklands: night time

On-camera lights

Adding depth to locations

Using the camera light will be quick and simple and easier when filming in places that do not need light but may need a bit more brightening in some areas, like the bathroom scene when filming Rebecca's face, there may need to be close up on the body for the marks which may be too close to the camera making the camera light balancing it all out.
