LO1: Rational (P1)

My chosen idea: Idea 2 

Female wakes up after a hang over and sees she has weird bite marks on her neck. she then slowly realises she has become a vampire due to sun light being and issue and her reflection slowly fading. she drags a rude, pervert behind a restaurant back yard, to comfortably eat her victim and get her revenge as a woman in society to then realise it only just hurt her. The reason I have chosen this idea is because it has a deeper meaning about women always being used and put down by men, getting revenge only hurts the women who tries to find justice. Typically, in films and movies, the ending has justice served but there are hardly any that show the there needs to be justice and maybe not within the system.This idea was the most liked by people who will help me film and by the students in my video whilst filming my initial ideas. It is easy to film as there is no money spent on location or props, all the props are available and no extra money is needed to be spent. Therefore, we found this idea more wise and interesting to film as well as having a fictional aspect with serious connotes all throughout.

Idea 1: Girl gets stalked and kidnapped.

Antagonist	- The people stalking and following her - The kidnapper
Setting	-The roads next to my house  -My friend's car- for kidnapping  -My house- for the place the kidnapper takes the girl.
Story & Key Themes	A young girl going through her everyday life routine, goes for a run and gets harassed and followed on her way home with no caller Id calling her and her getting followed. This then led to her getting kidnapped late at night in her own area. To then finding out the kidnapper was there to help the day from the others who raised their gaze.
Narrative	The narrative with be her and her journey of thoughts before getting kidnapped. After kidnapping it will be dialogue between the two.
Enigmas	Why didn't she call for help? who is the person who kidnapped her? what was the intent of the man kidnapping her?
Mise-en-scene	The car, the phone, cuffs, fake gun and maybe some blood.
Technical	The camera adjustments I will make is: -changing the shutter speed- the longer it takes the shutter to close, the more it drags the character which will show the girl on her run. - changing the aperture -using the dolly zoom  -changing the exposure levels

Idea 2: Trouble finds a beginner vampire.

Enigmas	Who turned her into a vampire, is she really a vampire or has she been spiked and hallucinating? what did she do on that night out?
Mise-en-scene	- Alcohol bottle - when she wakes up to have a clear demonstration that she was drinking and is hungover. - fake blood - for her neck with makeup  -  fangs  - cape/hoody

Idea 3: Girl gets kidnapped, her brother planned it

Setting	- Outside my house  - In car down my road - The docks - to park car
Story & Key Themes	Young female goes to throw out the bins to then finding herself, walking around the corner to inspect and help another girl crying, to then finding herself at the back of someone's car getting kidnapped. The plot twist is my brother knew about it and it was planned as my brother wanted me to get far away from our toxic hose hold.
Narrative	she speaks her thoughts whilst being kidnapped however there is dialogue throughout, and non-diegetic sounds being used.
Enigmas	-was it a coincidence that there was a nose of crying, and the girl gets kidnapped? -who kidnapped the girl? -why did they kidnap the girl? -is the girl secretly a bad person? -what are the intentions of the kidnapped?

Conventions of a short film

 Buried Treasure | adventure and mystery   

Convention	Evidence in film	Impact on Audience
Duration	The film is 5 minutes and 58 seconds long.	This is better for the audience because it's a short film which wouldn't disinterest them.
Characters	From the beginning to the end, you could see a young boy who shows the only character.	It shows the audience who’s the main character and who to follow throughout the film. The characters explain the storyline allowing the audience to understand what’s happening.
Emotional	At 2.45 it shows the little boy falling into a trap until 3.00.	This could impact the audience by shocking them to make them want to see what happens next.
Sound	There is a mysterious sound throughout the film and the boy speaking to himself at times.	This impacts the audience by making it sound mysterious and adventurous.
Storyline	The story line is about a little boy going on a treasure hunt.	It gives excitement and joy to see what comes upon his hunt.

In what ways is this film noticeably different to a full length feature?

The short film is good because the audience may not want to watch a whole 2 hour film and not understand anything but if you watch a short film such as this film it can explain a film in 5/10 minutes.
